What is Pill Companion?

Hi, my name is Dominik and I'm the one man independent developer of Pill Companion, the best utility for receiving daily reminders and keeping track of your pill usage. I started working on Pill Companion since I'm frustrated with seemingly every app having some form of Google, Facebook or other third party tracking built in. I firmly believe that everyone should be empowered to keep their personal data to themselves, especially concerning very private details such as the consumption of birth control medication. Therefore, I decided it is time for me to devote myself to developing and publishing apps with data privacy at their core.

You are probably used to apps being free of charge. However, nothing is ever truly for free and you always end up paying one way or the other. In the case of Apps, you are usually forced to allow a wide range of external companies to collect, store and process your personal data. With laws like GDPR from Europe in place, consumers are finally able to see the extent of these activities for themselves, for example by visiting Google's Activity Portal. Even information I and many others consider intimate is shamelessly exploited for financial gains by tracking companies. As explained above:

To be able to sustain Pill Companion's and other similar, privacy focused development projects in the future, I am forced to earn money in some form. Since I want this app to be available to as many people as possible, I have chosen to charge the lowest one time fee possible for apps on the App Store.
